Senior Visual UX Designer - Car UX

Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to redefine what it means to own a vehicle during a time of rapid change in the transport industry. Volvo Cars is looking to redefine all aspects of the car ecosystem including mobility solutions, autonomous driving, vehicle electrification, sustainability, and digital purchases and engagement. User Experience as a discipline is a key part of Volvo Cars' strategy and the UX organization gathers insights about our users, and redefines and elevates their experience of Volvo's products and services.

We are seeking a Senior Visual UX Designer to join the Car UX team within the UX Organization at our Headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. (International applications are welcome).

What you’ll do: 
As a Visual UX Designer on the Car UX team, you will work on defining features, products and systems within the digital systems of the car. Your responsibility will be to deliver design artifacts, such as production ready designs, assets, animations and prototypes that balance design aesthetics with intuitive functionality. You will collaborate with other designers and ensure a seamless customer experience across Volvo’s digital landscape. And as part of a product team, you will communicate designs, ideas, and rationale with your team using data and customer insights. As designer you advocate for the user, you will develop a deep understanding of our customer needs and pain-points, serving as an expert for your product team and develop ideas for new and enhanced features. 

We are looking for someone who has:
•    Versatile design experience using a full range of skills— visual design, prototyping, motion design and interaction design — to ensure you deliver magical experiences to the customer.
•    Excellent design skills with tools such as Figma or Adobe XD and Adobe Photoshop as well as excellent prototyping and/or motion design skills using tools like Flinto, After Effects or similar. 
•    A strong understanding of building and maintaining design libraries or systems. 
•    User-centered design practices. Constantly looking to hone your design instinct through user feedback. Whether that’s hands-on user research or a quantitative A/B test.
•    Since we are working in an international environment you need to have good English skills both spoken and written.
•    A portfolio (or work samples) of relevant past projects
•    Driving license is meritorious

On personal level, we believe that you are a strong collaborator, who can work with not only design partners, but many other stakeholders from marketing to engineering. You have strong communication and presentation skills that allows you discuss and present ideas.
