Senior Warranty Segment Leader

The Supplier Warranty Recovery team has the mission to contribute to Truck Brands and BA’s profitability through driving supplier warranty recovery, ​and reducing Volvo group warranty cost exposure.​


Let us describe your new challenge:
As Senior Warranty Segment Leader, your focus will be to handle supplier warranty recovery activities and to improve supplier warranty performance through analysis and cost recovery, directly impacting Volvo’s financial results. You will play a critical role in providing feedback of the customer experience of our products to many groups within the Volvo organization.
You will lead XF investigations on warranty cases with Volvo stakeholders and suppliers. The aim is to understand the types of failures that are being experienced and their root causes to define technical ownership and responsibility. You will negotiate with suppliers to establish fair and agreed splits of financial recovery to incentivize quality improvements at suppliers. You will also proactively secure suppliers sign-off of Warranty Charter in effective synchronization with Group Trucks Purchasing.

As we don’t know you yet, we do not know exactly who you are. But as this job is a lot about supplier- and internal XF collaboration with Trucks Brands, Aftermarket teams, Engineering and Purchasing, we do know that it is important to have excellent communication skills.

We are looking for candidates that can think ‘out of the box’ and consolidate warranty cases, putting together technical analysis inputs, technical and contractual documentation, to build strong recovery cases towards suppliers.


Other competence & Experience we would wish for you to have:​​​​​​
MSc or MBA with interest in technology (alternatively BSc or BA with relevant experience)
General Interest in technology, in-depth knowledge in some technical areas (e.g. within electro mobility ) or market application knowledge is a plus
Quality management tools in project (e.g. FMEA, RTS, PAA, PHR) and quality root cause analysis tool (e.g. 8D, Ishikawa)
Experience in commercial negotiation
Legal and contractual understanding and associated impact on business decisions and negotiations
