Scania’s Communications department operates globally with several key stakeholders. We are now recruiting a talented and passionate colleague to our team of skilled content producers, who can contribute to enhancing and evolving our messaging.
The role
We seek a Senior Writer who will work with all kinds of text production for communication activities. You will be part of the editorial team working with writing articles in short or longer formats aimed at both internal and external channels. The assignments vary between corporate statements, press releases, scripts, tech articles, and customer cases to create the narrative for a corporate event such as a press conference or similar. Our corporate language is English, so you need to be fluent in writing in English, preferably native.
The work is managed in a cross-functional team where we have core competencies needed to produce assets, from high-end production of still imagery and video to short social media posts and everything in between.
Core responsibilities include
Editorial work - produce different kinds of texts depending on messages and target group. Research, interview, text-producing, proofreading, and delivery of final text.
Be an active part of the daily operations handling various assignments, working with improvements, both in your specific role and also together with the other team members.
You will work closely with editors and writers in the team and support each other with text production to ensure correctness and high quality.
With your skills in writing, work to increase engagement and knowledge about Scania’s products, services, and strategies to support the transformation our corporation is undergoing.
You are to be regarded as our trusted and experienced senior writer with extensive knowledge of how to convey a complex message to different target groups. Your experience with corporate writing has given you a broad knowledge of how to tell a story or compose an article that readers, customers, and colleagues will find interesting.
To that end, you are to form strong relationships and collaborate closely with the core team within the communications department as well as colleagues across the whole organisation.
Your profile
You have extensive work experience from:
• interpreting communication assignments and how to convert them to textual communication. For different stakeholders and target groups, in different formats and channels.
• working in tight teams with content production, with colleagues as well as external resources.
• management of multiple assignments that requires a “here and now” mindset.
• work in international and intercultural contexts that require communication skills in spoken and written English/Swedish.
Education
You have an academic degree or similar from a recognised institution, in Media or Journalism.
5-10 years of experience working with corporate and/or business communication for larger corporations, B2B or B2C.
Extensive experience in storytelling for companies or as a freelance such as reporting for lifestyle- or travel magazines.
