In this context we are creating a brand-new department focusing on Fossil-free Materials, with several new positions to be located in Lyon, France or Gothenburg, Sweden.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
To reach our sustainability vision and strong commitment, we are looking to recruit 5 Senior/Lead buyers being experts in one of the following field:
Flat steel
Forging steel
Aluminum
PGMs (Platinum Group Metals such as Platinum and Palladium)
Plastics/resin and rubber

As a Senior/Lead buyer for plastics/resin and rubber materials, you will be taking the lead to develop and drive our fossil-free materials purchasing.
Your purchasing responsibilities will include to:
own and develop a direct or directed-buy strategy on your material expertise, consolidate inputs and secure alignment with a network of buyers, internal stakeholders and external partners.
be an expert on the related segment, defining purchasing business models, sourcing and managing full supply chain (Tiers 2,3…X).
challenge the existing, bring innovation, influence all aspects of the business, including proposing partnership with some core partners, to actively contribute to the Volvo Transformation & Sustainable journey.
support the organization with cost evolution for your scope, develop specific contract frame, secure competitiveness and cost levels in line with the market.

WHO ARE YOU?
You like to do business, you demonstrate great communication skills and you love to work cross-functionally and multi-culturally.
You have a can-do approach with a positive and open mindset, a high level of energy, and you are ready to tackle challenges with passion and purpose.
You enjoy managing many parallel activities, you are structured, analytical and you have a target-oriented approach.
You have a business or engineering degree, with at least 7-years’ experience in purchasing, preferably in automotive.
You are familiar with the specific plastics, resin and/or rubber raw materials market, with a good understanding of commercial drivers. Experience on directed-buy business is a plus.
