Sensing Function Owner Systems Engineer

This Opportunity
Delphi’s development office in Gothenburg (former Mecel) specialize in software and systems development and function ownership within the Active Safety domain. The need for Active Safety products is rapidly growing and in order to manage projects and deliver products to all European OEMs, Delphi is now hiring over 10 experts in this specific area.
The Sensing Function Ownership position (SFO) is a customer facing role that requires a deep technical understanding. You will be part of the system team and responsible for your specific function. In this role you will need to know the fundamental capabilities of the technology within Delphi’s Radar and Camera based sensors for Active Safety. You will be in charge of the sensing part that enables today’s and the future cars with feature capability such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automated Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Automatic High Beam Control (AHBC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), etc.
Your task
• Be the first interface for the customer and involved in the whole process from requirement identification to validation.
• Engage in business meetings both internally and externally.
• Since the SFO “owns” the function, he or she must ensure that the negotiated requirements are being met and validated for use in serial production.
• Responsible for requirements analysis and break-down of the requirements to the software development team.
• Independently follow the technical development of the SFO´s function.
• Support the development team in development and testing of the software.
• Through close team work with software and system engineers, project managers and customers, actively perform optimization and solve issues that may occur in the function.
• Throughout the process make priorities and decisions on continuous improvements of the software and decide on when the product is ready to be delivered.
• Present the final product for the customer and continuosly follow up to make sure everything is working fine.
• Communicate with team members of different cultural backgrounds that may be located in different time zones.
Your skills
• BSc or MSc D/IT/F/E/Z or equivalent
• Knowledge of the automotive and/or truck industry
• Experience working within safety, body, infotainment, powertrain, and/or chassis systems
• Experience in the areas of vision, camera, radar, and/or fusion technologies
• Understanding of software development; experience of systems design within active safety is preferred
• Experience working in an agile environment is highly desired
• Good understanding of quality standards and SPICE
• Proven leadership skills and good judgment regarding systems and software
• Experience working with communication protocols, such as CAN, LIN, MOST, FlexRay, and Ethernet
• AutoSAR and Matlab experience
• Must be fluent in English, both verbal and written
• Decent verbal and written skills in Swedish desired but not required
• In addition to English, other language skills are beneficial, preferably German and/or French
