How will you make an impact?
As a Service design architect-service innovation, you will help the director to lead, manage, and drive the Service digital enablement requirements for new products being developed through our NPDI process in partnership with Business Unit R&D and Product Management teams scaling defined service requirements.
This role gives a high visibility within the different functions at the Uppsala site. We seek a person who is sensitive for these relations and can leverage between the scope of the different functions in early R&D serviceability and digital enablement efficiency.
You will also support the creation of a shared service to establish product connectivity standards, data value extraction from connected devices to integrate a Universal “Thermo Fisher Scientific” standard across the entire company.
This is a newly created role on the Design for Serviceability team, which is part of the Service 2030 project organization.
The Global Systems R&D holds the overall design responsibility of our three largest in vitro test instruments, Phadia 250, Phadia 1000 and Phadia 2500/5000. Our instruments are very complex and consists of multiple moving parts, transport of fluids, environmental control etc. This is all controlled by software that is subject to continuous updates with corresponding testing and verification.
What will you do?
Help establish and manage resources and processes to improve service outcomes, and inform new product development
Support the technical requirements for the overall business needs and associated value while providing business support for the division
Assist in creating standard toolkits and training to support the businesses during the sales process and migrate to the connected devices strategy
Partner with Product Quality teams to leverage connected device data to improve product quality and reduce overall warranty costs and cost to serve during the product lifecycle period
Service tools to aggregate, analyze and act on the data to drive business insights at the corporate and BU level
Support lifecycle management of the data connection
Include service marketing and voice of customer requirements in NPDI process
Provide expertise to capture value from telemetry data and incorporate into next gen product design
Collaborate with key stakeholders and manage by influence in the organization to drive consistency in technical direction
How will you get there?
Several years’ experience in working in a digital innovation environment
Several years of relevant work experience in digital enablement
Proven track record in working with cross functional teams across multiple business units
Experience in developing digital products processes and standards
Broad experience with multiple technologies, patterns, and industries
Out of the box thinker
Excellent communications skills, verbal and written, with technical and executive audiences, business acumen and sensitivity
Good English skills. Swedish is an advantage.
A self-starter
University level degree with preferably related to engineering or software development.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to travel on a routine basis to customers and internal sites (US & EMEA max. 25%)
