We are now recruiting a Service Engineer to be located in Gothenburg, with the drive and passion to contribute to our future products.


Job Description


As a Service Engineer you are responsible for developing and maintaining repair information (Methods and Standard Times) for Volvo Bus chassis area. In cooperation with colleagues within and outside of the department you enable bus workshop technicians to perform their work in a predictable, safe and efficient manner.

You will be part of the Service Engineering & Information Management team (SEIM) within Service Market Technology (SMT).


Main activities and responsibilities:
Develop and document efficient service and maintenance information (methods & standard times) by using CAD data, time studies and when needed physical verification.
Prepare text and graphics (from CAD data) to create repair information
Use authoring system to layout information and graphics that is easy for the user to follow
Maintain and update existing repair information
Responsibility for special tools to new and existing methods.
Compile specifications (manufacturing specifications, wear tolerances, pressures, etc.) for each method.
Continuous technology and industry knowledge update to secure awareness of service market workshop needs

Profile:
Minimum of 3 years experience from truck and/or bus workshop or minimum of 2 years experience from similar position within automotive development
Standard Time (ST) knowledge and its impact on warranty, dealer and customer
Good knowledge about methods development and verification
Experience from 3D CAD tools (CATA, CREO or other) and authoring tools (SID, ArborText, GRIPS, PTC Windchill or other)
Great communication skills, ability to work cross functionally and build relations
Business oriented with a clear customer focus
Drive to improve our way of working, with strong implementation skills
