ABOUT THIS WORK AREA
In Ingka we are looking to change how we are set up as an omnichannel retailer, to provide an excellent last mile service to our customers, securing both people, planet and business interest. As part of our IKEA Retail direction, related to Job 4 (Create affordable services to make IKEA convenient), Last mile is seen as a priority to transform to an Omnichannel Retailer as Online Sales and Services in general are growing. Due to this, taking complete ownership of the last mile value chain is a focus within IKEA in coming three years.
To support this business decision, a new IT system (Delivery Management Platform), operating model and sourcing model is to be implemented in a pull approach to the Ingka countries. The new ways of working with related IT solution to support these processes are new to IKEA and complex in shape of needing (1) development, (2) deployment to countries and (3) handover to line organisation.
