About the role
As Service Manager for GIS, Geographical Information systems & services, you will be a part of the Generation Services organization within the Fortum Business Technology division. You will be expected to take ownership of the Fortum group’s common geographical information systems and services (GIS) platform and portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring an end-to-end perspective for operations and development of the platform, related services, data, and applications.
You will lead a team of two direct reports and have great support from our large organization of technology and digitalization experts. Together you will ensure secure operations and maintenance of the GIS platform, products, and related services throughout the life cycles. You will collaborate with the Business Technology division, various business and corporate stakeholders as well as other parties, i.e. external providers. You have succeeded in your work when the Fortum GIS platform setup enables scale-up of benefits and the development of flexible fit-for-purpose business solutions. The job is located either in Finland or Sweden.
Previous GIS experience and understanding is an advantage but not a requirement.

Key activities to achieve success
• Portfolio management of GIS applications and services
• Development and maintenance of governance model and steering for Fortum GIS operations and continuous development jointly with stakeholders and the team
• Strategy and roadmap creation for GIS portfolio to ensure optimal life cycle management
• Vendor management and resourcing
• Stakeholder management, engagement, collaboration, and communication
• Prioritize work together with development initiative stakeholders and the GIS team
• Service design and set up towards business and corporate stakeholders
• Financial responsibility for the GIS portfolio including budgeting, forecasting, and follow up
• Improve, standardize and keep infrastructure up to date, ensure security improvements and efficient use of tools
• Collaboration with development teams and securing that the solutions provided are of good quality
• Improve the effectiveness of value delivery for the Fortum GIS users and stakeholder community
What we are looking for
• You have the ability to effectively collaborate across organizational boundaries
• Demonstrated service and vendor management skills, preferable in the energy sector or similar business domain
• Previous experience in managing a team, preferably as a manager with direct reports
• You like to work in a structured way with planning, communication, and follow up
• We hope you are self-driven, improvement-oriented, and motivated to take responsibility and ownership
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in both technical and non-technical contexts in English, and other Nordics languages is a benefit
• A domain understanding of GIS and spatial data, IT operations, or the energy business
• Interest and understanding of industry trends and business needs
• ITSM experience
