About the job
Do you want to be part of a team on a mission to enable the future of energy? Northvolt is now looking for a Simulation Engineer, for battery systems development, to join our team. You will be given the opportunity to develop li-ion battery modules, packs and systems as well as being a part of building one of the first European large-scale lithium-ion battery factories.
We are looking for a Simulation Engineer who combines technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively.
You will work in a newly formed team, under development, together with committed engineers and you will collaborate across engineering teams and disciplines. We are looking for innovative people that love solving complex problems. You will work hard, have fun, and of course, make history!
You will apply your fluid dynamics and thermodynamics knowledge by performing everything from analytical hand calculations to setting up and running complex simulations, from cell to system level. You are a newly graduated engineer or have a few years of industrial experience.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for developing CFD models and performing analytical calculations for all parts of our systems, from cell level to battery pack level both at an early design stage for concept verification but also later during the design cycle.
Support our development projects with your expertise.
Actively participate in test planning and evaluation of test data and be responsible of using test data to validate and verify the simulation models.
Set up analysis methodologies with respect to CFD simulations.
Participate in design reviews and include your findings to create a better product.
Present your findings to internal/external stakeholders to improve the design.
Collaborate with other engineering teams for system optimization, and you will be open to new proposals and have a problem-solving attitude.
The person we are looking for is strongly goal oriented, curious, and eager to learn. You will get the chance to have a real impact on our success story and see the results of your work. Our organization requires and values great self-discipline, commitment and drive and possess a natural talent to make things happen. The CFD Engineer is a vital member of the Simulation Team at Northvolt Systems and a key to Northvolt's mission to enable the future of energy.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large-scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
