Arbetsbeskrivning
Are you ready to make electrifying connections? Help us design sustainable transportation solutions for the future. As part of the Volvo Group Technology team, you’ll help us accelerate our journey by engineering exciting next-gen technologies with a global reach. Be part of our evolution as we strengthen our team. Bring your love of design engineering, working collaboratively, and your advanced skills to a place where you can make an impact. You’ll contribute to projects that determine new, sustainable solutions. Come and join Volvo Group and help leave society in good shape for the next generation.
You will:
Work with advanced mechanical FEM simulations. You will be part of a global team of experts and be responsible for the early development of new technologies within the areas of electrical energy storage systems (ESS). Together with your team, you run and participate in a wide range of projects with both short and long-term goals to strengthen the ESS organization with your expertise.
As a CAE Engineer Durability, you will perform structural FE simulations on ESS systems and subsystems, with a focus on strength and fatigue under road induced vibrations. In addition, you will be a key person in developing and improving our evaluation process. You will initiate physical tests, analyze the results and validate simulation methods. Since you are a structured person, creating technical documentation of the methods and reports of the analyses comes naturally to you. With your passion for your work, you are not afraid to present what you’ve been working with to team members and stakeholders outside the team. Agile is our way of working. Together with your team, you will be able to paint the bigger picture, identify the objectives, and set priorities while also coordinating internal and external work with other departments and suppliers. We need your expertise. You will be encouraged to speak up! We want you to be heard.
Have deep knowledge in structural FE simulations (Nastran / Abaqus)
Be knowledgeable in fatigue evaluation under dynamic load (Ncode or equivalent)
Have good knowledge in pre- and post- processing in Ansa / Meta
Have demonstrable battery experience and know how
Perform and lead durability FE simulations to evaluate strength and fatigue of the battery on module, pack and system levels, analyzing the result and present to the stakeholders
Correlate the simulation models against physical tests
Create technical documentation of the methods and reports of the analyses.
Coordinate internal and external work with other departments and suppliers
How to succeed
You are a problem solver and have a deep knowledge in structural FE simulations. You are a team player who brings your strong analytical mindset to the table, with the ability to take vital actions when required. You are also a communicator with a contagious positive attitude. You want to work in an inspiring environment together with skilled colleagues and develop your professional and individual skills in the long term. Because we hope you stay here for a while.
You are also:
Innovative and hold a Master of Science degree in engineering or equivalent experience
Proven experience and fluency with at least 3 years of work experience with durability simulations in an industry setting
Familiar with the scripting tools Python and Matlab
Truly engaged and committed simulation engineer. Someone who is interested to learn and expand your skills, particularly in the area of battery technology
You also speak and write fluently in English.
We Value Your Wellbeing
Volvo Group believes in diversity, equity, and inclusion and offers a safe environment to grow. Use your open mind and can-do attitude to help us steer our transportation solutions toward a more sustainable tomorrow.
