You will be part of ABB HVDC within the Power Grids Division in Ludvika. HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used to transmit power through long distances at minimal loss, using overhead lines, land and sea cable systems. We are looking for a Simulation Model Designer. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining models for multiple simulation tools used for power system studies with detailed focus on HVDC control and dynamic performance including model testing procedures and verification studies.
Your responsibilities
In this position it is important that you are able to approach complex problems by applying analytical skills and work in a structured manner.
Day-to-day interactions and joint problem solving within the core team is critical for efficient collaboration and continuous competency development.
Taking responsibility for the delivery and have a clear customer focus.

Your background
You hold a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar field.
You have knowledge and skills in power system analysis, dynamic modelling, programming (C++, Fortran, Python), control theory, system studies and simulation tools such as PSS®E, PowerFactory, PSCAD and EMTP-RV.
Previous experience from power system industry is meriting.
As you will be part of a company that operates on the global arena, you must be proficient in English.
