We are looking for a Site Development Manager (SDM) for Sweden that will manage and influence continuous improvement for a group of sites leading Site Development Plans and Basics agenda. Directs (and participates in) performance dialogues, gemba walks and First Choice initiatives and drives actions together with site management. Potentially leads a team of engineers and continuous improvement (CI) Champions and others to continuously improve operations capabilities and efficiencies.
Your main accountabilities:
• Drive the Ops Ex agenda in the business
• Act as a spokes- and sparring person for the site management teams and business unit (BU) director(s)
• Act as a linking, connecting pin for the BU management for strategic Ops Ex topics and related information channeling (vice versa)
• Manage Site Development Plans (for each individual site) for our sites as the agreed action plan between SDM and Site Management
• Deploy and manage strategic programs via the Site Development Plans
• Support the sites with the interpretation and action definition of the monthly Site Dashboard
• Together with the continuous improvement (CI) team and Logistic Engineers develop and incubate new improvement and innovation topics that help our operations and customers
• Stimulate and activate improvement of performance on existing sites and safeguard productivity and efficiency in our renewals and in new customer bids
• Make use of, and share best practices from the sites in or outside your area
• Support OMS implementations in your area, acting as an “ambassador”
• Support sites in LPMC improvement action driving and follow-up
• Lead innovation and standardization projects together with the sites
• Facilitates Site Development and Continuous Improvement / First Choice workshops.
• Stimulate (continuous) improvement culture within the field by using different communication ways and using the different communities and functions in the field.
• Challenge site management based on predefined action list and pipeline.
• Participate in customer meetings in special situations to promote the continuous improvement agenda and to promote the plan or progress.
Your Profile:
• Experience of operational line management in the supply chain business. Preferably within DHL Supply Chain.
• Project management skills.
• Leadership capability, also the ability to manage / influence through dotted line teams.
• Experience in working with virtual teams and managing people in matrix organization.
• Minimum Bachelor degree in Logistics, Operational Management or comparable
• Broad experience in a leadership role in Logistics Operational Management, Logistics site-management or Continuous Improvement in Logistics environment (or relevant, comparable experience)
• Experience with engineering or analysis tools, like value steam mapping, work study methodology e.g.
• Experience of lean methodology and a continuous improvement approach
• Influence skills , negotiation skills, project management skills
• Language: Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Ability to work across Sweden.

SDM will be based in Stockholm and the surrounding area to primarily support the sites in our northern area but also be able to help on other sites in southern Sweden.
The role as SDM is a mobile role where you start from your place of employment to travel around the area and support the various sites.
SDM reports to Head of Operations Excellence Nordics.
