RWE is now recruiting a site manager for the RWE Owner's Engineer Site Team for a Wind Farm Project in Halland County in Southern Sweden.

The Site Manager will report to the RWE Project Manager and will supervise the construction and commissioning of the 8,4 MW Örken wind farm extension near Halmstad in Southern Sweden, on behalf of the Employer (RWE Renewable Sweden AB).

The RWE Site Manager will be responsible for the supervisory control of all workstreams being undertaken on site to ensure the project is delivered safely, with due respect to the health, safety and environment (HSE) and in accordance with related contracts, the programme, budget, required quality parameters, the environmental permit and relevant regulatory requirements.

The main work packages will be undertaken at the site and will include but may not be limited to the following:

* Civil works (including final wind farm design, forestry works, construction of internal access roads, crane pad and MV/fibre cable trenches) that will be undertaken by the civil works contractor,. These works will be delivered under an ABT06 contract between the civil works Contractor and the Employer.
* Foundation works that will be undertaken by a foundation works contractor under an ABT06 contract between the foundation works contractor and the Employer.
* Electrical BoP works and grid installation works that will be undertaken by the Grid Operator (E.ON Energidistribution AB).
* Wind Turbine works (transportation, installation and commissioning) that will be undertaken by the appointed Turbine Supplier.
* BAS-U role responsibilities in accordance with Swedish requirements.

The Site Manager will be supported by an experienced RWE Project Manager and extended offsite project team.

The role is a 12 months fixed term contract position for the duration of the construction project which is expected to complete in Q3 2023. The Site Manager will be required to work Monday to Friday, for a maximum of 22 working days per month.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

* Day to day management of the site team, monitoring and recording of works undertaken on the civil, electrical, wind turbine and grid work streams. Delivery of HSE, quality, budget and programme objectives in accordance with contracts, and statutory requirements.
* Daily HSE management as necessary to ensure that adequate safety measures are in place during all site activities including site inductions, participation on weekly site safety walks, coordination with all contractors in regards to their HSE plans/strategies, etc.
* Supervision, record keeping and quality assurance on wind turbine installation, commissioning and 120 hour reliability tests that will be conducted by the Turbine Supplier.
* Active participation in, daily construction meetings, progress meetings (weekly and monthly) and cost management meetings, and supporting the RWE Project Manager in the management of interactions at contract interfaces between RWE, the Contractors, the Landowners, the Lender's Technical Advisor, the Grid Operator (E.ON Energidistribution), and other key stakeholders including Public Authorities, the local community and the media.
* Provision of strong representation on behalf of the the Employer in daily, weekly and monthly operational project meetings with Contractors.
* Support in contract management activities including the preparation of material documents and formal communications required under contracts and as may be required on a day to day basis.
* Support the Project Manager on the resolution of issues that could otherwise have adverse impacts on, progress, quality, costs, HSE matters, environmental permits and the public perception of the project. This includes taking the lead on day to day verbal and written communications with Contractors required to address any such issues.

Required experience and skills:

* Civil/Mechanical Engineer, with at least 5 years of experience in the management of major construction projects including experience gained on mid-sized/large scale wind energy projects.
* The candidate must be able to demonstrate a high standard of written and spoken English and ideally Swedish as well.
* The candidate must be adaptable, highly motivated and willing to engage on a broad range of complex and challenging issues that may arise at short notice and/or that may require perseverance to resolve with Contractors and other Stakeholders.
* Good awareness of HSSE issues and a firm commitment to maintaining high HSSE standards. Must be experienced in the preparation and review of Risk Assessment Method Statements and safety analysis. The candidate will hold the BAS-P and BAS-U qualifications and demonstrate previous experience working as a BAS-U officer.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Good leadership and communication skills.
* Good problem solving abilities - Ability to identify problems, root causes and potential solutions, and determination to deliver agreed solutions.
