The role
At Kindred, we strive to become the No.1 Operator across all markets.
We are strong believers in engineering teams taking operational responsibility for their products and working hard to support them in this. We work closely with engineers to advocate sensible, scalable systems, and design and share responsibility with them in diagnosing, resolving, and preventing production issues.
As a Site Reliability Engineer at Kindred, you will build deploy and maintain Monitoring tools and supporting systems with automation in mind to reduce the amount of time and effort necessary for our Development Engineers to provide the best platform service for all our brands.
Responsibilities
Provide support to the Monitoring tools and related deployment systems with automation in mind to deliver our Observability Platform.
Help increase the overall reliability of our products and services.
Create a bridge between Development and Operations by applying a software engineering mindset and SRE principles to System Administration topics.
Collaborate closely with System Owners to ensure that requirements concerning Observability (metrics, traces, logs, alerts, etc.) are part of the design of new systems.
Provide meaningful data to stakeholders to perform analyses such as capacity planning and infrastructure optimization.



Skills And Experience
Good working knowledge of at least one scripting language such as Bash, Python or Golang.
Have experience with tools such as Bitbucket, GitLab, and GitHub.
Automation – Jenkins, Terraform, Artifactory, Ansible or similar.
Have hands-on experience on at least one of the following topics:
Monitoring – Icinga, check_mk, Nagios or similar.
Time Series Databases – InfluxDB, Graphite, Grafana, Prometheus or similar.
Logging - Fluentd, Splunk, Elastic Stack or similar.
A good grasp of the Linux environment.
View problems as an opportunity to improve.
Prefer automation over manual effort.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Have experience with cloud infrastructures such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, Amazon AWS or similar.
