Site Reliability Engineer

Arbetsbeskrivning

We are on a mission to become the leading force within property management and residential services. And we are looking for likeminded people to join us on this journey.

Several leading companies joined forces to form Odevo and have in less than three years grown the business more than tenfold to become a leading international player, managing more than 500 000 homes. Our ambition is to continue to grow at the same pace both organically and by attracting additional companies to join us both in Europe and on other continents.

Residential real estate is the world’s largest asset class and buying a home is often the biggest investment a person will make, but the residential property management industry is lagging behind when it comes to customer focus and digitalization. That’s why we formed Odevo.

Our software is custom-made to simplify living and to make life easier for property owners, residents and property managers. We make difficult things easy to understand and automate time-consuming tasks so people can spend more time on things that they enjoy.

Even though we are big, for us it’s all about being outstanding. We aspire to break new ground through innovation and cultivate a workplace where we can grow as individuals and have fun achieving great things together.

To continue our ambitious growth journey, we are looking for more great people to join us. Are you one of them?

About the role
Odevo's cloud-based platform is unique, and in a short time, we have established ourselves as a leading and innovative company. Our ambition is to develop ways to simplify the management of properties and housing through digitalisation and thereby fundamentally change the industry. A third of Sweden's homeowner associations (500,000 properties), will soon be connected to Odevo's platform.

Our product development department acts as a SaaS supplier to all of the companies in the Odevo group and several other players in the industry. The department consists of about 40 highly-skilled engineers in Stockholm and London. As our department grows in Sweden and internationally, we are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen the team. We are outgrowing our previous infrastructure choices, and we need your help to create the future of our platform. By being part of our team, you will have major influence over technical decisions and contribute to shaping this future solution.

Together with us, you will

- Solve a wide variety of computer infrastructure problems with long-term maintenance in mind

- Manage networks and Linux-based servers and services, physical and virtual, with and without containers

- Simplify workflows and then write code to automate them safely and reliably

- Standardize and automate the provisioning of infrastructure resources via Infrastructure-as-Code, orchestration and configuration management

- Contribute to and support scaling out of infrastructure and services to cloud platforms

- Interact closely with our developers to deliver a highly performant and reliable live production platform and investigate production issues for continuous improvement

- Be part of developing our future private cloud based on open source technologies

- Over time work with much of our tech stack, including: Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, MySQL, Nginx, ELK, Jenkins

This role is an opportunity for a hands-on technologist with a passion for Linux that want to be an essential part of operating Sweden's leading platform for property management.

Who you are
You enjoy working in a constantly evolving business where you have the freedom to take initiative and implement your ideas. You strive for quality in everything you do and always want to deliver your best. You are not concerned with prestige and enjoy working in a team environment.

Experience
- Extensive professional experience in Linux system administration and operations

- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware, operating systems, storage, backup hardware, and associated network equipment

- Experience in network topology, routing, and setting up new interfaces.

- Strong understanding of server virtualization infrastructure concepts and tools

- Knowledge of scripting for automation of tools is preferred (BASH/Python/Perl)

- Experience with several technologies from our stack, Docker, Grafana, Zabbix and MySQL.

Location
While we have an office in Stockholm, it is a hybrid remote position if that suits you best. Our office is on the top floor of the newly built Sthlm 04, which offers stunning views over Stockholm.
