Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Lendo has already established a strong position in the Nordics, and is now looking to grow in Europe and beyond. The newly acquired PSD2 license creates opportunities in Open banking, enabling us to further develop our value proposition and drive scalability in more markets.

To support future growth, we are currently looking for a skilled Software Engineer with experience in development operations. As Site Reliability Engineering is a new discipline at Lendo, you will join a small team and have the chance to shape and advocate the SRE culture, and way of working at Lendo.

You will be joining an organization that believes in a psychologically safe environment that actively provides feedback and supports its engineers to learn and grow. You will be working hands-on with operations, incident management, as well as software development, to ensure the reliability and resilience of the Lendo products across different markets.

In this role you will

-
Perform risk analysis, assessment and mitigation

-
Shape the scope and workload of the team

-
Work with Infrastructure cost optimization

-
Implement observability practices (monitoring & alerting)

-
Participate in incident management

-
Enable teams with guidelines and procedures to minimize errors and incidents

-
Solve engineering problems using software development disciplines

-
Design and develop cloud infrastructure


What we have been doing for the last 6 months

-
Migrated one Lendo market from Openstack to Google Cloud Platform.

-
Developed infrastructure modules using Terraform (Kubernetes, Rabbitmq, PostgreSQL, Istio, Envoy, etc) with a security by design approach.

-
Improvements in monitoring, logging, alerting and analysis of operational metrics to enable data-driven decisions for the Lendo platform (Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver, Humio).

-
Established a shared Devops function among our engineering teams which lead to the formation of our current SRE team.


Some things we will be doing

Identity and access management.

Define and implement SLIs and SLOs for our infrastructure and the Lendo platform.

Drive the architecture design of our new global platform that will scale among multiple markets.

Improving the developer experience by leveraging self-service disciplines, as well as implementing automation tools to complement the development lifecycle of our engineering teams.

-
Enabling and training engineering teams in DevOps.

We believe you have

-
Software engineering background with a DevOps mindset and/or operations engineer with experience in software development.

-
Understanding and hands-on experience in application development, data storage, and cloud infrastructure.

-
Understanding of the software delivery lifecycle, experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery such as GitOps.

-
Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible etc)

-
Hands-on experience with cloud deployment, monitoring, and operation analysis tools.

-
Team mentality and willingness to share knowledge and ideas.

-
Great communication skills, written and verbal.

-
Fluency in English.


Its a plus if you have

-
Knowledge of the Go programming language (Go is the most commonly used programming language at Lendo)

-
Hands-on experience with Service Discovery/Mesh

-
Interest in security best practices

-
In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform.
