Volvo Cars recently announced that the next generation infotainment system will be based on Android Automotive, with close collaboration with Google. We are now looking for Android developers to strengthen our organization.
Developers at the Infotainment department work in one of approx. 20 agile teams divided in areas of: Android Platform, Connectivity, User interaction, Security, Android Automotive app development, and other car functions etc.
What do we offer?
As an Android Software Developer, you will work in a team to develop and enhance the Navigation functionality in the car to give the end user a great experience. You will use the latest tools and technologies available and collaborate with partners and other teams to deliver state-of-the-art software. You will also test the features by implementing automatic test cases that run in the CI environment.
What you will do.
Actively working with GNSS and software development in the full vertical Android stack for the infotainment system.
You will create CI test cases related to the implemented functionality and work with development using Java, C++, Python, Bash and the Android tool set.
As a software developer you will have end-to-end responsibility including design, architecture, documentation, implementation, and automated test cases. You will also debug, test and trace during integration as well as synch and cooperate with partners and teams.
Who are you?
We would like you to have a B.Sc or M.Sc in Software Engineering or similar relevant experience. At least 5 years of software development (C++, C, Python, Java etc). Experience and knowledge in GNSS and in android automotive are preferable as well as Kotlin.
We hope you have experience in Embedded Linux Development or Android Platform Development and experience in working with Continuous Integration and Automatic testing.
If you have worked with agile software development practices, it’s an advantage.
Good English skill (written and spoken) and driver’s license (B-level) is a must.
