SOC Specialists for 2nd line of defense

The Red IT Security Team at Vattenfall IT continue to expand and develop into a team of IT Security experts which provides services for the Red environments of Vattenfall. As a member of the team, you have the opportunity to contribute to the design, content and the build-up of its capabilities.


The team operates in Sweden side by side with the larger Vattenfall Group IT Security organization. As 2nd line of support, the team will mainly work during office hours. As the Red IT Security Team will gather different capabilities, you will perform your work in close cooperation with coordinators of the SOC, penetration testers and specialists on regulation and security design.
Working with 2nd line of support, you will perform a broad range of tasks within the SOC; log analysis, develop playbooks, onboard new systems, cooperate with Operations, participate in the incident response. In addition, you will organize vulnerability scans and participate in driving processes and the technology stack of the SOC. At all times you will cooperate with asset and system owners by informing them about, and providing advice on how to manage vulnerabilities. You will also support make assessments of potential incidents. During incidents, you provide advice and support towards Operations within your area of competence.


Desired competences, experience and personal skills
• Very good knowledge of network security
• Experience from SOC/NOC operations, CERT work or incident management
• Experience of secure network monitoring (server logs, IDS data, PCAP data)
• Ability to collect and analyze information, draw conclusions to present/report
• Certifications, for example CEH, CISSP, CompTIA Security +
• Driven, curious, analytical, problem solver
• Very good communication and cooperation skills
• Proficient in spoken and written English
