Role Summary/Purpose:

The social media intern will drive and implement the social media strategy by initiating, developing and delivering content on a variety of social channels and communities. The intern will use social listening tools to monitor social networks and use the insights to produce relevant and timely content. The intern will also focus on analyzing metrics for social media activities to optimize content and improve execution.

Essential Responsibilities:

We are a team of content managers, writers, and web developers based out of Uppsala, working on maintaining and enhancing gelifesciences.com digital properties. As a social media intern, you will also be in contact with marketing and product management teams in the US, UK, and other regions.

Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and publish social content for a variety of channels.
Engage with social communities and proactively engage advocates who can promote our communities and contribute content.
Map and optimize content for specific customer segments, user journeys, and channels.
Work closely with marketing stakeholders to plan and promote campaigns, NPIs, events, blogs and other content.
Monitor analytics for social media activities, report out, and implement recommendations to improve performance.
Manage social listening tool to find out where users are engaging, which topics are trending, and ensure that we are delivering valuable and relevant content.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Pursuing or received a Bachelor?s degree in marketing or communications
Experience in social media management/publishing and familiarity with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics
Active in online and social media on a daily basis, including platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.
Excellent written English skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills (word, excel, powerpoint)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work independently as well as with a team
Stays up-to-date with social media tools, strategies, and best practices.
Multitasker who can navigate different customer segments, channels, communities, and tools to achieve business and customer objectives.

The internship is for six months and begins August 15th, 2016
