THIS IS US, YOUR NEW COLLEAGUES
A part of the Volvo Group’s central communication department, the Content & Activation team works with planning, producing and managing communication initiatives towards corporate stakeholders, e.g., the political arena, investors and analysts, current and future employees, and media. Our team members have different professional and educational backgrounds but share the same passion to create communication that sparks a dialogue and moves the needle.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As social media manager you will be responsible for planning, producing and publishing content on the social media platforms where we are active, monitoring our feeds, engaging in dialogue, and following-up on performance and adjusting accordingly. Collaboration and co-creation are key and you will work closely together with subject matter experts within PR, employer branding, public affairs, investor- and media relations, brand, and with the communication teams in our different business areas who are responsible for customer communication.
You will report to the Director Strategic Communication.

As social media manager, you have an analytical mindset and the ability to turn plans into action. The content you create is optimized based on user behavior, considering the evolving technical possibilities and limitations of different platforms. You are familiar with the major social media platforms and working with both paid and organic distribution. In addition, you understand the digital landscape in general and how different channels are connected.
In the Content & activation team we own our strategy and take pride in our craft. That means that we work hands-on and are able to do everything ourselves, but we also work together with agencies to boost our efforts.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, create and publish content in social media channels. Engage in dialogue. Measure the outcome and adjust.
Plan and drive specific communication campaigns: in-house and together with agencies.
Collaborate within the team, with other Volvo Group colleagues and with external partners.
Develop, evaluate and continuously improve work processes and collaborations within the area of responsibilities.
KEY COMPETENCIES, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
At least 3 years’ experience from working as a social media manager at a large, preferably multinational, corporation.
Clear interest in and understanding of business issues and ability to translate them into communication objectives and actions.
A proven track record of planning, activation and execution.
Worked with both brand building and conversion-driven content in social media according to set KPIs.
A data-driven approach with a good understanding of target group segmentation and experience of working with optimization of paid campaigns.
The ability to handle complex projects simultaneously.
A genuine interest for trends in social media and pop culture.
A proactive mindset, can-do attitude and a desire to continuously learn, develop and improve.
Excellent writing skills and solid presentation skills.
Full professional proficiency in English and Swedish.
Academic degree in marketing/journalism/communication or similar.
