Software architect - application operation

You will maintain and develop applications operations on Windows and Unix platforms, database management with Oracle, MS SQL and Sybase, and a platform for web applications.Your role is also to supply Vattenfall Nordic with competence in the area of applications operations architecture, business knowledge and daily operations.Supply Unit Common Functions, deliver services within application operation,databases, Biztalk integration, LiveLink, ECM/WCM and IT project management.Our group called Application Operation delivers to Vattenfall Nordic's Business Units and internally within VBSN-IT.We deliver services for application and database operations, and a platform for web applications (called VAP) to Vattenfall Nordic, with Vattenfall IT Infrastructure as the subcontractor.Main responsibilities and tasks To strategically and sustainable develop and coordinate the technical platform for application operation, Oracle, MS SQL and Sybase databases, and Vattenfall Application Platform (VAP) for web, for example within areas of availability, function, performance and Capacity management (by ITIL).You will produce business cases as well as estimate time and cost for assignments and orders.In addition to this, you will have contacts with customers and other counterparts within Vattenfall.It is your role to guide and support Vattenfall business units regarding choice of technical solutions, based on general standards within the Vattenfall group.With a holistic perspective, and from operational requirements, you will act to provide both cost-efficient and functioning solutions. You will also work in daily operations of customers' systems and handle incidents, problems and changes within database and application administration.The tasks include implementing improvements both technically and within our processes, planning of updates in existing environments, introducing new solutions and following the standardization of IT within the Vattenfall group. Qualifications You have solid experience of applications operation on different platforms such as Windows Server, Unix (Sun Solaris and IBM AIX), VM-Ware, and databases such as MS SQL , Oracle and Sybase.In this area, you have worked with implementation, commissioning, updates, changes, documentation and maintenance.For all areas, you have worked with availability and function from a maintenance perspective. It is a plus if you have Certificate within ITIL, Windows Server, Unix (Solaris and AIX), MS SQL, Oracle, and Sybase, and knowledge of PROPS (the project management model we use) and/or knowledge of project management.As a person we want you to have Good cooperation skills Ability to make correct judgements and priorities from a strategic and efficient perspective Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
