Software Asset Manager - Microsoft
At Volvo Cars Group IT, we have been designing our brand-new Software Asset Management function and we are now looking for new colleagues to help us build it. The Software Asset Managers in the SAM-team within CIO Office will not only be responsible for the licensing in their domain but also for the governance of their respective supplier and contracts on a strategic and tactical level, this will be done in close cooperation with our IT-Operations team, License Governance lead, operational License Managers and fellow Software Asset Managers within Group IT

As we are building an all new SAM function the Software Asset Manager - Microsoft role will not only manage the Microsoft license portfolio and contracts but will also build the governance structure for licensing, contracts and the Microsoft relationship. Further, there is a need to enhance the Microsoft license measurement models, license optimization and implement this into our license management tool. You will report to the IT Director within Resource and Capability Management.
Main responsibilities
* Implement governance structures and processes for managing the Microsoft license- and services portfolio
* With the implemented structures and processes secure that Volvo Cars has control over the Microsoft portfolio and associated licensing
* Together with the SAM-team, drive the development of the Volvo Cars software asset management processes, sourcing strategy and license management systems
* Build and lead a community of Microsoft License Mangers within Volvo Cars
* Supplier- and Contact manager towards Microsoft in the licensing area
* Support IT-Operations, projects, License Managers and Service Managers with Microsoft license expertise
* Proactively drive efficiency by optimising license utilisation
* Manage license audits and reviews to secure correct usage of software licenses
* Strategic business-needs interaction
* Participate in negotiations in close cooperation with IT Purchasing
Required qualifications
* University degree or equivalent working experience
* Experience within the Software Asset Management area
* Specific Microsoft license knowledge and experience
* Experience interpreting software licensing terms and conditions
* Good supplier relation- and negotiation skills
* Good understanding of ITIL and preferably with ITIL certification
* Certification in Software Asset Management is meritorious
* ITIL certification is meritorious
