Software Developer

ORBITAL SYSTEMS is an award-winning clean-tech startup in Malmö, Sweden. Our Founder and CEO, Mehrdad Mahdjoubi, developed the world's most advanced shower system allowing up to 90 % water savings and 80 % energy savings while increasing comfort and hygiene. Inspired by an academic cooperation project with NASA, the company was launched under the mentorship of Skype's Founder Niklas Zennström, and is today in a fast-growth stage. We are a growing team of over 50 at our Malmö Headquarters and have expanded into Denmark, Norway, Germany and the US with the vision to create a new paradigm in daily water usage.

Your Role
The role as Software Engineer is a key hire for our organisation as you'll be working with our revolutionary water saving technology, developing and maintaining the control system. Although this will be your primary task, you will also develop prototypes and customised testing equipment for interdisciplinary research and development. As Software Engineer you will swiftly and efficiently deal with any issues that arise with preventive measures and ingenious solutions. You will be a part of an excellent team consisting of electronic hardware, mechanical and electrical engineers.

You also need to have:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Good understanding of embedded systems.
- Basic knowledge in electronics.
- Ability and interest in documenting your work.
- Language: good oral and writing skills in English.
- Minimum 2 years' work experience. Graduates might also be considered, but in that case the applicant is expected to have gained relevant knowledge besides the mandatory course material. You will also be expected to proudly present and discuss your hobby projects during the interview.

Relevant knowledge:
- 8-bit and/or 32-bit microcontrollers (ex. Atmel, Microchip)
- Linux and Real-Time Operating Systems
- Python
- Low-level and high-level programming in C and/or C++.
- Using equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope and logic analyser.
