About us
Our Computer Science units in Luleå are growing and we are now looking for a new team member to work as a researcher with a focus on distributed computing and solutions for the IoT-Edge-Cloud continuum.
In Luleå, we operate Europe's leading data center laboratory, and our research and innovation activities range from ground to cloud. Together with partners and customers from industry and academia we develop sustainable and energy-efficient systems and software for cloud services, telecom edge networks, data innovation platforms and more.
About the role
As a researcher in our team, you get the opportunity to work in a growing and leading research institute with excellent development opportunities. We are working on research and innovation projects related to the Edge-Cloud software stack of the future. As part of our team, you will be adopting leading open-source frameworks and tools and contributing to the state of the art. In this role, you will help strengthening Swedish and European sovereignty in cloud and edge computing. You will work with technologies such as CPU/GPU virtualization, cloud native, container orchestration, workload scheduling, and meta operating systems. With a scientific mindset, you will engage in applied research, combining theory and practice. The position is a permanent full-time employment. The workplace is in Luleå.
Who are you?
As a research engineer with us, we believe that you are a passionate and solution-oriented person who likes to combine a scientific approach with implementation. As a colleague, we think you are a solution-oriented person who likes to take on new opportunities and social contexts. With solid skills, a flexible way of working and aptitude for abstraction, you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-tech environment. You have a minimum of a master's degree in computer science engineering or equivalent, with a focus on networks, operating systems, distributed computing, cloud/edge and software development. For this role, we believe you have at least a few years of experience in software development. A PhD degree or a proven scientific track record is beneficial. We prefer candidates with strong oral and written communication skills in both Swedish and English.
