Thorlabs Sweden is a growing company with exciting opportunities ahead. To achieve our goals, we are looking for a new colleague to complement the software development team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on the software platform for Thorlabs’ spectroscopy products that provide Thorlabs’ broad range of advanced tools for our customers projects in spectral measurements and analysis. The position includes development of the application interface for users, as well as control of instrument hardware and creating algorithms for advanced data analysis.
Product development is done in multi-functional teams consisting of engineers in areas of expertise as software, electronics, mechanics, and optics. Most of your colleagues will be local, but there will also be collaboration with other Thorlabs entities in Europe, Asia, and the US.

The in-house language at the office is Swedish, but since we are an international company a lot of communication is in English. You need to have a good knowledge of English, and preferably also of Swedish, both written and spoken.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with/who is:
At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related scientific field
C# and C++ experience, preferably in a larger software project
WPF experience, preferably working in complex applications
Two or more years of client-side Windows application development
Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) architecture experience
Unit-testing experience
Energetic and passionate about working through complex design/implementation challenges, practicing new design principles, and delivering results with highest standards
Meriting knowledge:
Strong understanding of coding principles and patterns such as the interface-segregation principle, the single-responsibility principle, and the encapsulation principle
Experience in writing multithreaded software
Experience writing customer-friendly, extensible APIs for devices and algorithm libraries
Experience in hardware control and communication protocols
Basic understanding of the Fourier Transform
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related scientific field
