Polestar’s Digital department is a key enabler of the entire business, leveraging best-of-breed technology to create critical digital products across several domains. We are now looking for a software developer to our Digital Remarketing & Wholesale team.

CAS delivers digital solutions that enable the acquisition of new customers and provides services to existing customers. The primary goal is to provide a world-class experience in both physical and digital touchpoints. The domain is a key enabler of Polestar's overall strategy as a D2C brand and the increasingly important aftermarket business. Product areas within the area include the polestar.com website, Sales & CRM tools, Customer Interactions (test drive, Spaces), In-car and Mobile apps, and Ownership Experience (charging, service booking).

Digital Commerce Solutions is responsible for the delivery of D2C and B2B digital solutions to be consumed by the different customer journeys for both Retail and Fleet customers. Product areas found within Commerce include Polestar’s Car Configurator tool, Digital Storefront (pre-owned, extras webshop), Checkout, Order & Delivery, as well as Financial Services Partner integrations and the Fleet business.



What you will do

As a Software Developer at Polestar, you will be a creator, transforming Polestar's digital vision into working solutions by building digital products, platforms, and services using the very latest technology. Expectations are high, but most who work here will benefit from an intensive learning experience. Teams are expected to adopt a true tech-first, product-focused approach. For many, the autonomy at Polestar is liberating, challenging, and unusual.

Polestar’s tech stack is modern and free from legacy constraints, mainly based around:

Node.js, Typescript, React.js, GraphQL, .NET Core, C#

Applications run in AWS on a serverless architecture using lambda functions and services such as DynamoDB.

Whilst experience of these tools and technologies is useful, much of what dictates success at Polestar comes down to mindset and approach. You may have a Java background, for example, and still, be highly suitable for us. Above all, we value openness to using new technologies, coupled with a strong approach to problem-solving and developing solutions.

Other tasks you will be accountable for:

- Build applications, often in close collaboration with UX/UI designers, to optimize trade-offs between technical functionality and end-user experience

- Design and develop the business logic and back-end systems of Digital solutions

- Ensure the code follows the latest coding practices and industry standards

- Write both unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasks

- Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions

- Maintain a close relation to Competence Group Leads and Architecture & Standards team to ensure the latest guidelines and guardrails are followed when developing digital solutions



Who you are

To be a great fit for this position we believe you have:


- A full-stack, front-end, or back-end developer background, already familiar with or willing to learn either Node.js, React.js, Typescript, .NET core, C#

- Sound experience from developing applications in a cloud environment

- Experience from working with event-driven microservices

- Can write effective unit and integration tests

- Experience as a Developer on a cross-functional agile team preferred

- Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process and analyze information
