Software developer FEM-based model for solidification

Arbetsbeskrivning

Job Description
You will be working on the development of a FEM-based model for solidification with special application to Additive Manufacturing (AM). Over the last few years, Thermo-Calc has developed new models to predict thermophysical material properties using the CALPHAD method. Your work will build on top of this, and you will be developing a model to solve the long-range temperature field in 3D for AM-processes by using available FEM code. The focus will lie on a unified treatment of both process parameters and also alloy-dependent thermophysical properties. You will integrate this model into a solidification module within Thermo-Calc. Programming within our codebase will be an important part of your work.
As a software developer at Thermo-Calc Software, you will work on the entire development process, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, verification, and validation. The development is mostly done through agile working methods.
We are Looking for:
As a person, you are structured and you are stimulated by working on product development projects with others. We also believe that you are self-reliant and gladly take the initiative and inspire others by finding solutions.
Your Profile
You have at least a Master or preferably a PhD in Engineering or similar, with experience in developing and using codes for FEM. You are a skilled software developer. We think you have good knowledge in object-oriented languages, and it is also meritorious if you have experience or interest in any of the following:
Physics or material science
Mathematics and/or Numerical methods
Thermodynamic and/or kinetic modelling using CALPHAD tools
C++, Python, Java, JNI, Fortran, Swing
Windows, Linux, Mac
DevOps and Continuous integration
Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

You are proficient in English, both in written and spoken language. Our company language is English and knowledge of the Swedish language is not a requirement.
