You will be part of Process Control Platform (PCP), a unit within ABB Business Area Process Automation. We are a global R&D team driving digitalization and providing edge/cloud and Industrial IoT solutions to the industry. We collaborate daily with internal and external customers to develop an edge platform that brings significant value to customers, connecting data from manufacturing to other information systems and making the information available in real time.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will be part of a team of highly skilled colleagues developing an edge platform based on the latest technologies. Example of the team’s responsibilities are a web portal for managing edge devices connected to a cloud platform, but also development of edge platform services and mobile applications. The platform enables the industry to release the full potential of operational data, e.g. being able to collect, store, communicate, analyze and act quickly on data from production systems. The edge platform strives to solve the automation use cases of the future. In this role you will have a great opportunity to grow.
You will report to R&D Team Manager.


Your responsibilities
Design, develop and deploy full stack applications for our edge platform solutions.
Build services, user interfaces and solutions for distributed systems with large data volumes and low latency.
Follow technology trends, architecture- and development practices to release high quality products.
Work together with local and global teams and actively share best practices.



Your background
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.
At least two years of experience, or a strong track record, from software development.
Experienced in C#, React and knowledge of Azure Cloud is a strong advantage.
You are a self-driven learner and have a wide technical interest in areas such as Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, ASP.Net, Azure DevOps and Functional Programming.
Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work both in team and independently, ability to plan and organize the work.
Fluent in English.
