Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

Who We Are
At Volvo Cars, everything we do starts with people. Our human-centric approach is what sets us apart from other car companies and is at the core of everything we create. We are committed to simplifying people’s lives and are constantly working toward making a true difference. The Function & Control team is responsible for developing all seat functions at Volvo Cars, designing, developing, and delivering software for both in-house and supplier-controlled modules. As we continue on our journey of innovation and electrification, we offer a chance to grow alongside talented people dedicated to improving the driving experience and making an impact on the world.

What You'll Do
As an experienced software developer in the automotive industry, you will define and maintain the software architecture of the product and ensure the delivery of high-quality software for our vehicles. Your focus will be on software development to guarantee that our customers receive the best possible system in terms of functionality and quality. You will take charge of managing tasks independently, driving issues with energy, and providing transparent status updates on your work. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally and stay ahead of technology trends to continuously improve both the product and our processes.

Who You Are
We are looking for a software developer with at least five years of experience in C++ or C, and knowledge of the automotive industry's software development standards. While experience with QNX, Embedded Linux Development, Continuous Integration, and Automatic Testing is preferred, it is not mandatory. Familiarity with tools like Git, Gerrit, and Google Test, along with experience in Matlab Simulink, will be beneficial. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and possess a flexible, self-driven, and performance-oriented mindset. As a strong team player, you are reliable, adaptable, and always striving for excellence.
