That is exactly what is happening at Ingka across the system landscape. We, the Event Messaging team, believe that decoupled architecture is the key to building resilient systems. While hybrid multi-Cloud is the reality of our technology landscape today - operating across 4 Public Cloud providers, our On-premise Data Centers and our 378 IKEA stores globally, has its own complexities and cost optimization challenges.
We, the team, are focused on how to make distribution, discovery and cataloging of Events across this landscape seamless and easy. Simplicity is in our value. And we want to achieve that for the many engineering teams at Ingka Group – for which we - “the few” - need to take on the complex problems, so that others do what they do best, deliver value to the business. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You are a highly skilled hands-on backend developer who loves to build and operate software applications. Programming gives you joy, and design triggers your thought. You know a thing or two about Event Driven Architecture (EDA) in a distributed computing world including design patterns like publish subscribe, eventual consistency, sharding and CQRS.
You are purpose-driven and outcomes are what you believe in
You are deeply hands-on in backend API-first cloud native application development using any of your favorite programming languages and can follow it up with deployment and scaling in Kubernetes
We love building apps on Google Cloud, if you do too, great! If not, does not matter. As long as you can convince us whether the team should go Serverless/FaaS or PaaS, we are fine
GitHub has been at the center of your developer experience with Gitflow a well-practiced workflow.
You don’t settle with repeatable manual stuffs and solve it with automation for you and for the team. They would love you for that!
You love to coach, share expertise and empower co-workers from different cultures

Most importantly, you are the one who bubbles with energy and enthusiasm.

We take pride in delivering and operating services, and tools for the many engineering teams at Ingka – which also means listening to our engineering culture and adapting as we go.
