Are you interested in flight related technology and developing your software skills? Then this might be the position for you.
Your role
In your role as software tester on the flight control system, you will write test procedures and test the software that form part of the aircraft's control system. The test procedures are written in Matlab and the tests are performed in Simulink. You will also analyze the test results to ensure that the system requirements are met as specified. In addition, this also includes summing up and documenting the development and the testing work.
The work is conducted in a positive and helping atmosphere in teams of 4-8 people. In your work you will get a step-by-step competence development through both education and knowledge transfer with experienced colleagues. You will have to undergo a comprehensive training program to get into your role as the control system has many contact points with other systems in the Gripen aircraft. Within this job there are also future opportunities for you to become an authorized CSCI (Computer Software Configuration Item) manager.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in technology and flight. We value personal qualities such as being a team player, analytical, structured and able to adapt to, and manage, changes in your work. You have a good ability to document and complete your work according to plan and expectations and it is a matter of course for you to be quality conscious.
Required skills:
* bachelor or masters degree in engineering.
* A large part of the work is done in Matlab and therefore good Matlab knowledge is a requirement.
* All documentation and many contacts are in English, therefore good knowledge of the English language, in speech and writing, is required.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
What you will be a part of
Aeronautics is a business area within Saab, read more about us here. The area Aeronautics, Weapons and Navigation is part of Aeronautic's development department and the task is to develop functions and abilities in the technical areas of control systems, aerospace and systems technical integration, engine integration, aerodynamics, aeronautics, navigation and performance for manned and unmanned flying products. Our area is divided into 13 sections and has a total of about 240 employees. The control system is responsible for the development and maintenance of the control systems for mainly Gripen and Saab 340/2000.
We are three sections with 60 employees in total who are involved in many different projects. The business has a core to effectively support the further development of Gripen and our civil aircraft. Responsibility spans over project management, development and integration of complete subsystem, system security, control technology, monitoring and surveillance, as well as testing and verification. Our assignments does also include research and product development.
