Who we are
At Core System Platform we are building a high-performance computer-in-the-car architecture. We are leaders in the paradigm shift that is happening in the car industry. A key for enabling innovation within areas such as Autonomous Drive, Advanced Connectivity, and Machine Learning. Our mission is to create a vehicle computer platform using the latest technologies and the latest chip technology in combination with more traditional car signaling technologies. We are dedicated to delivering platform functions to simplify application development to create a safe, reliable, and secure platform solution within Volvo Cars for increased innovation and speed. Within the Core System Platform, the Secure Gateway teams are responsible for the creation and deployment of a system that handles the communication within and between the closed car communication system and the external accessible systems. Here, we’re looking for a software test engineer. The location is Ideon in Lund.
What you will do
We are currently seeking a software test engineer at our location in Ideon, Lund.
As a software test engineer for this position, your responsibilities will include building solutions that prioritize safety, security, and reliability. You will create and maintain automated black box tests for automotive embedded software, adhering to the highest cyber security standards within the car industry. Additionally, you will collaborate with different knowledge groups to perform system fault tracing. Your role will involve extending and enhancing the existing CI/CD infrastructure owned by the team. You will actively participate in the requirement creation process to ensure that the requirements are testable. Furthermore, you will analyze errors using diagnostic tools to inspect frames on various communication bus systems and conduct software updates on the Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
This position will involve working within a highly empowered agile team that is accountable for the entire spectrum of activities, ranging from requirements and software architecture to implementation and testing.

The candidate must have great skills in automated tests with good experience in embedded systems. Additionally, they should possess good knowledge of working in a Linux environment, along with a solid understanding of Python. Furthermore, they should demonstrate a solid grasp of network protocols and network routing, as well as proficiency in cybersecurity testing. A working knowledge of C/C++ is also required for this role.
While not mandatory, experience in Penetration testing or Ethical Hacking would be considered meritorious. Similarly, having knowledge of the automotive industry would also be an advantage for the candidate, although it is not a requirement for the position.
