Car Service Cluster, a segment of our Commercial Digital area, aims to offer our customers a customized, effortless, and cost-effective experience as part of owning a Volvo. We support the rest of our organization in using this knowledge to serve the customers in the best possible way.

We’re looking for you who can help us craft a world class digital ecosystem that spans across multiple product teams and clusters. What You’ll Bring

We are looking for an experienced backend engineer with a proven track record of working on multiple products. You should possess senior-level expertise in Java and have experience in developing and managing microservice-based solutions in production environments.

You should have a solid understanding of modern software engineering practices and be able to evaluate different options to make informed decisions on the most suitable technical solutions for our needs.

To thrive in this role, you must be a strong team player capable of inspiring, driving, and creating commitment among your peers and colleagues. Additionally, we expect you to be passionate about learning, continually building on your current skill set, and supporting others in their development.

What you will do

The team will be building applications, both backend and frontend, for performing data processing, provide data service platform functionality, and integrate with external systems, among other tasks supporting our car service business.

In your role, you will:
* Contribute to the development, testing, maintenance, and integration of applications/systems
* Participate in and lead ideation and brainstorming sessions to devise creative and innovative digital solutions
* Utilize modern frameworks and tools to build, deploy, monitor, and maintain our solutions
* Occasionally take on multiple roles, such as individual contributor, lead, teacher, mentor, and solution designer
* Collaborate with representatives from supported business areas
* Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Evaluate options and performance tradeoffs/benefits in collaboration with others
* Promote quality in our deliverables
* Develop and maintain applications and systems within the team's/department's area of responsibility, ensuring that deliverables meet both functional and non-functional requirements while adhering to the organization's standards and overall architecture
* Actively work on team alignment, sharing knowledge, and supporting/mentoring others to achieve shared goals
* Primarily work within technical areas such as IBMi series systems, with more technologies expected to be introduced over time
