We are looking for a full stack software engineer with experience and interest to work with scaling successful experiments developed with your brand team and helping on building common platform parts in order to bring value to Aftonbladet and further media houses.

You will work with Aftonbladet, Sweden’s biggest news source, engaging more than 4 million people on a daily basis. Aftonbladet’s mission is: “Aftonbladet aim to make Sweden a little bit better, the world a little more understandable and life a little bit easier ”.
Our organisation, Schibsted News Media, has 300+ experts in product management, UX and technology. We build new digital products and technical platforms for Schibsted and Aftonbladet, enabling independent journalism thrive with products people love.

WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer with Node.js and React competence.
If you have a passion to solve complex development problems and produce the highest quality code while striving to push the technical boundaries of online applications, then you would most likely enjoy what we do!
Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and AWS is a plus. Also, if you have experience within dev-ops and an agile mindset. We think that you have at least three years of experience within web development.
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING WITH

Continuously designing and developing new features to push Aftonbladet’s products to the next level.

Experimenting with new technologies and solutions.

Work data-driven with user experiments to test different hypotheses.

Addressing problems, defining tech solutions and collaboratively working with other teams to solve challenges and integrate applications in a cloud environment.

Ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

Working with data scientists and analysts to improve software.
You will work closely with the Aftonbladet stakeholders, data analysts and SEO-colleagues in order to attract a broad audience, form habits of high engagement and deliver on the societal-journalistic mission. Your work might have a great impact on scaling successful experiments developed with your brand team and helping on building common platform parts in order to bring value to further media houses.

Product & Tech is responsible for product development in News Media. The unit consists of product managers, software engineers, UX experts, and user researchers. A big part of our work is developing joint technology platforms for Schibsted’s news brands. These include platforms for content production and distribution, digital subscriptions, and advertising. Most of our teams work distributed, with colleagues in Oslo, Stockholm, Krakow, Gdansk, Bergen, and Stavanger.
