The Applications team
At CellaVision we have two Applications teams, Applications 1 and 2, and this position will belong to Applications 1. At Applications 1 we work at the forefront of technology and use some of the latest advances in programming, digital imaging, and machine learning to create customer value. As a member, you will help to drive the future of digital cell morphology among highly skilled and passionate colleagues. The team, consisting of an almost even mix of males and females and with roots in five different nations, works in the critical interface between man and machine and has the goal to replace labor-intensive manual steps with state-of-the-art digital counterparts. We develop algorithms for our analyzers that locate and pre-classify cells to automate and simplify the process of performing blood and body fluid differentials.
This position offers a unique opportunity to participate in our entire development process; from algorithm development, implementation, code reviews, and documentation, to the creation and execution of tests. Thus, this is a broad role that will allow you to benefit from all your technical expertise, including mathematics and problem-solving.
What we can offer you
Work tasks
- Software development in C++, C#/.NET, and Python. Develop applications in new areas as well as further development and maintenance of our existing applications.
- Occasional implementation of graphical user interfaces.
- Development and implementation of algorithms using methods from e.g. image processing and machine learning.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Bug hunts and code optimizations.
- Requirements specification, to write design descriptions and various reports.
- Design of test cases and hands-on testing.
- Participate in small research projects, maybe as supervisor of a master’s thesis projects?
- Learn new things but also delve into some long-forgotten secrets of coding, such as MFC.
- Share your knowledge and experiences with us so that we can improve together.

Who you are
- You have a university degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- You feel enthusiastic about developing and maintaining Windows applications in C++ and/or C#.
- If you also have a mathematical background, experience in automated testing in an agile environment, and/or experience in image processing or machine learning - you are basically our dream candidate!
