The Plant Maintenance product is key to success in managing and continuously optimizing our Manufacturing facilities and equipment. You will join the Volvo Cars Industrial Operations Digital team and become a part of our exciting journey towards a product-oriented software company. The team is primarily located in Göteborg but is having a truly global manufacturing digital responsibility. You will be part of the journey as we deliver on our company’s vision and scale our services globally. We use modern tools and agile methods to create business value continuously. We ensure high quality, availability, and adaptability in our delivery.
What you’ll do
The Engineer for Plant Maintenance product is part of an agile team that provides the plant maintenance business organization with world class tools to proactively safeguard our production. The scope of the application portfolio contains but is not limited to asset management, disturbance management, business intelligence and visualization. We want you to take a full end to end responsibility and take part in everything from elaborating business requirements, transform the requirements into digital functions as well as making sure implemented functions always work as expected.
Plant Maintenance product ensures that all our manufacturing equipment are optimized to build cars with minimum disturbances. It requires them to be robust, scalable, and efficient but also to embrace modern new opportunities in order to assure we use the best technologies available. The area of Plant Maintenance is in the middle of a transformation where we both develop our strategic applications to enable globalization at the same time as we embark on the Industry 4.0 revolution. Our ambition is to connect all equipment and its data to both analytical and operation platforms. Our target is to provide solutions which identify upcoming equipment failures by using IoT data and thereby enable proactive corrections to avoid production disturbance. In this role you will be part of a truly global and agile team where Digital and Business work side by side on a daily basis.

Do you fit the profile? 
We are looking for a person with a deep technical interest and some programming experience, but now wants to work with more functional responsibility, all the way from business requirement gathering to delivering and supporting our global solutions.
This is an opportunity for a junior or mid-level Engineer to join a team of talented engineers that are ready to mentor and guide you to the next level in your career. You are an engineer that has at least a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in a relevant field. We expect you to be experienced in installation of commercial multi tier applications including the required infrastructure. You have a good understanding of communications and related fault analysis. You have an education and preferably some experience in agile development practices and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps or similar. Knowledge of the automotive industry is meritorious. You should have a general understanding of production processes and understand how all these things work together to make end-user applications work well. Fluency in English is required, and Swedish is a plus.
