WHO YOU ARE
To be successful as a Front-End Engineer, you not only have a good understanding of Human Computer Interaction design, keeping up with current best practices in your area of expertise. You have about 2-3 years of experience leading tasks or teams to ensure well-architected and scalable solutions. Particularly user facing solutions, composable UIs, federated front-end In addition, you have demonstrable experience working in an Agile and DevOps working set-up.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Front End Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:
- understanding and translating business needs into software requirements
- work with Product Owner/Specialist/UX to collaborate on requirements refinement and backlog prioritization
- prototyping, developing, testing, deploying, fixing, maintaining and continuously evolving the code
- extensive experience with Web Apps, SPA, React/VUE/Angular, Micro-frontends, CI/CD
- work on the back-end requirements when needed
- work closely with user/system reported incidents and tickets
- applying and adhering to good practice in software engineering practices (e.g. DRY principles, security by design, continuous integration, automated tests, pair programming, code reviews) within an agile/iterative development approach
- Continuously identify, highlight and address technical debt
- recognizing when to provide support and guidance to other engineers within the team, encouraging good practices on both the technical and non-technical aspects of working as an empowered team
- contributing to the continuous development of standards against which software development should take place, as well as exploring and introducing new technologies to boost innovation and development productivity
- taking a lead on working closely with other software engineers and cross functions to produce required design specifications and ensuring that digital solutions work together to fulfil business needs

At Group Digital, we set the digital agenda to keep IKEA leading in an uncertain and fast-moving environment. We drive the development, provision and operation of our digital products and services through the use of new and existing technology and agile delivery methods to deliver at pace. At the same time, we provide a home for digital skills to both develop and extend the technical, people and business skills needed to ensure continuous development and growth of our digital capability.
Within the Profiles Area we are responsible for digital tools that acts as support for the end customer of ikea-account webpage but also internally consumable APIs for other teams. We have embarked on a journey to not only modernize our tech stack to cloud native (GCP) but also to deliver the best possible experience for the IKEA customer when logging in.
