Reference number: 448 JOB DESCRIPTION In this role you will work within R&D Core Technologies and be highly focussed on imaging algorithm development.The imaging area covers all aspects related to optimization of video image quality for surveillance applications.You will specifically be involved with technology planning and development of technologies targeted for Axis hardware (ASIC/FPGA) as well as software components.You will mainly work on the algorithm level developing high-level C models and implementations.For the hardware integration parts you will be assisted by ASIC engineers.You will also work closely with existing Core Technologies experts and algorithm developers in order to ensure optimal feedback and synergies between different core areas.In addition, you will define any thesis projects related to your area of expertise and act as supervisor for students.Summary of scope: * Technology long-term planning in cooperation with Imaging Lead Engineer * Imaging algorithm development and verification * Design and verification of Hardware/ASIC support * Embedded systems programming * Software design * Software maintenance YOUR QUALIFICATIONS The right candidate has a master's degree or equivalent and experience in embedded systems programming.You have documented industry experience and imaging algorithm development for video applications, e.g.from the noise reduction, autofocus, colour reconstruction or wide dynamic range imaging domains.You also have a keen interest in imaging and imaging technologies as well as good knowledge in Linux and C-programming.Knowledge of ASIC or FPGA development is considered as a merit.Furthermore we believe you are a person with good patience, persistence and drive.You are able to work well within a team and to explain your work to others.To be successful in this role you should be innovative and able to think outside the box.Very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both oral and writing are required.THE TEAM The Core Technologies Imaging team is responsible for the long-term technology agenda within the strategic Imaging area.We perform technology roadmapping; execute the roadmap by developing technologies and assist toward platform integration of technologies.We are also responsible for scouting and evaluation of new components, such as sensors and optics.In addition, we act as a core competence centre within Axis.We also define test methods and standards to be used by Axis as a whole.WHAT CAN AXIS DO FOR YOU By joining the world market leader in IP cameras you will be in a unique position to influence the role of image quality and processing for surveillance system applications.You will also be involved in Axis strategic technology planning process and contribute to core technologies used in future Axis offerings.You will thus play an important role in ensuring continual market leadership for Axis in the years to come.READY TO ACT?Axis is a company realizing the benefits of a diverse workforce.We know that diversity in groups creates a better working environment and promotes creativity, something that is fundamental for our success.
