Software Engineer in Dealer Inventory Management
Our job is to keep society running. Making sure that food gets to the grocery store, hospitals have electricity, and that people can commute to work. We do that by making sure that Volvo Group trucks, engines, buses, and construction equipment keep running uninterrupted all over the world. Together with other talented people from a diversity of backgrounds and with a wide variety of skills we make sure that spare parts are available when they are needed in a sustainable distribution network with thousands of dealerships.
Watch this short video to learn more about what we do.
To make the magic happen we combine supply chain knowledge with software development in an exploratory environment where organization and hierarchy are less important.
The main contribution of our team is two folded.
Optimization of the spare part inventory of approximately 4000 Volvo Truck, Bus, Penta, Construction Equipment and Renault Truck dealers around the globe. We do that by building our own cloud native solution on Azure, called PlanIT, which will be at the center of everything we do.
Supporting data driven decision making by developing and maintaining high quality BI solutions for internal and external stakeholders. We are transitioning to three major Power BI applications for all stakeholders – including our 4000 dealers. A key enabler will the development of analytics layer where data will be structured and transformed.
We are looking to expand our competence set with a software developer engineer who can team up with supply chain experts, cloud architects and others to be part of the development and future maintenance of our analytics layer as well as the cloud native planning solution.
In our team you will have the opportunity to really make a difference for the future together with supporting colleagues in a highly international and skilled team.
We think that you can join our business team on the transformation journey if you are:
A true team player with a curious and audacious mindset
Proficient in 1 or more scripting languages (SQL, Python, Spark, QlikView, Java, etc.)
Experience of version control systems like git, github
Experience working in Microsoft Azure cloud
Skilled in data engineering and software development
A self-starter who enjoys a good challenge and creative problem solving
Capable of understanding a global, ever-changing supply chain
Comfortable to leave well-trodden paths and engage cross functionally
Proficient in effective English communication with peers and senior management
Knowledge of Agile methodology, Microsoft Azure, DevOPs, or software development
Interviews will be conducted continuously – so if you feel you are the right person, please send your application today.
We are looking forward to welcoming you as soon as possible but you can also join a bit after the target start date.
