Reference number: 447[ JOB DESCRIPTION As a Software Engineer you will work as part of a group within R&D Core Technologies highly focused on becoming the main competence centre within Axis with regard to integration and delivery of new imaging technologies in Axis technology platforms.Your main focus will be to optimize the camera system with regard to image quality by exploiting the potential given by available imaging technologies.You will also have a strong focus on fast and efficient delivery of validated technologies in platforms targeted for use in Axis products.Specifically, you will be responsible for basic integration of new image sensors and sensor modules as well as matching optics in our embedded frameworks.This will involve initial set-up of the imaging pipeline with any new available Axis technologies.You will also be responsible for conducting internal demos and produce documentation towards a decision regarding the use of the technologies for further development and use in Axis platforms as well as products.Thus, you will be among the first to verify the potential of new imaging technologies and you will have a key role in the decision process going forward![ You will work closely with imaging experts and algorithm developers in order to ensure optimal feedback within the imaging area.[ YOUR QUALIFICATIONS We believe you have a master's degree or equivalent.You also have experience in embedded systems programming and very good Linux and C-programming skill.To be successful in this role you must be driven, able to make own technical decisions and have a keen interest in imaging and imaging technologies.You're a focused, goal-oriented, efficient person that is able to deliver on time according to specification.You have the ability to work well within a team and to explain your work to others as well as innovative and able to think outside the box.THE TEAM The Core Technologies Imaging team is responsible for the long-term technology agenda within the strategic Imaging area.We perform technology roadmapping; execute the roadmap by developing technologies and assist toward platform integration of technologies.We are also responsible for scouting and evaluation of new components, such as sensors and optics.In addition, we act as a core competence centre within Axis.We also define test methods and standards to be used by Axis as a whole.WHAT AXIS CAN DO FOR YOU By joining the world market leader in IP cameras you will be in a unique position to influence the role of image quality and processing for surveillance system applications.You will also be involved in Axis strategic technology planning process and contribute to core technologies used in future Axis offerings.You have the opportunity to be a prime expert in how to leverage Axis imaging technologies for optimal end user benefits.You will thus play an important role in ensuring continual market leadership for Axis in the years to come.READY TO ACT?Axis is a company realizing the benefits of a diverse workforce.We know that diversity in groups creates a better working environment and promotes creativity, something that is fundamental for our success.
