The company has approximately 8,000 employees across the globe working on research, development, design, sales, marketing, distribution and support. Sony Ericsson is thanks to the success on the market going through a phase of expansion. The Telephony group is responsible for developing and maintaining applications related to telephony services, both voice and video. We are entering new and exiting technical areas and are searching for Software Engineers that could help us in the development of future telephony applications within the Video area. We are now looking for candidates that recently graduated, or are about to, from University and are ready to take on new challenges. The position includes specification, design, implementation and module testing. You will have frequent contact with other parts of the software organization as well as outside the software organization. You will be part of an engineering team responsible for all Telephony technologies related to Video media in any form. Typical tasks of the candidate would be to: - Work with functional requirements to add new functionality into existing software or design the architecture for new features to meet functional and non-functional requirements - Design, implement and deliver functionality with high quality to the phone projects. Education and experience: Knowledge in SIP, IP, RTP protocols is a plus. Having worked with or understanding in multimedia protocols like H.264 is an advantage. Knowledge in programming embedded systems using C/C++ is preferred as we develop our applications using C. Educational level should be a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering or similar.
