The Control & Communication Platform team is the Bombardier Transportation internal supplier of control system products for railway vehicle control. The organization is global with sites in Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, and India. The team in Västerås is responsible for computers, input and output products, and human machine interface products. We are now investing in new products with increased performance, cyber security protection and increased functionality.


Join us as a Software Engineer and you will be looking at a career-defining role based in Västerås, Sweden.


In this role, you will have responsibilities and a large impact within the Control & Communication Platform development within Bombardier. The Controls and Visualization team are responsible for development and maintenance of advanced real time control computers for railway, including real time requirements, safety requirements and in addition shall manage cyber security requirements. The products are built up using multi-core processors using both real time operating systems and Linux.
We are developing our products both using integrated externally developed components and own developed software components.


Your responsibilities will include:
• Design and implementation of software for our embedded products;
• Analyze and integrate externally developed software components;
• Fault tracing and bug fixing for solution of customer issues;
• Support in developing efficient software engineering methods.



Qualifications



• Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science or comparable;
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience in embedded software development, key words are C, C++, Linux, VxWorks and QNX;
• Demonstrates strong communication and diplomacy skills; drive for results, good problem-solver with a systematic approach;
• Good documentation and presentation skills using MS Office tools;
• It is desirable with good knowledge about industrial or railway safety standards and cyber-security for embedded systems;
• Fluency in English is required, and Swedish is desired.
