As our Software Engineer you will build upon Swisslog’s modular warehouse management system SynQ, for optimized logistics processes to realize custom solutions. Together we code the future. YOU WILL

You will join the Software Engineering team, part of the EMEA Software department, working in small international teams to design and to develop software solutions with Swisslog's standard software products for automated warehouses. Every day we deliver superior performance and value to our customers. SynQ encompasses warehouse management, material flow, and automation control systems functionality, along with an array of business intelligence tools to boost warehouse performance.

You will be reviewing business requirements, conduct code reviews and perform proof of concepts to identify best design. The role inquires to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization. This includes communicating status, technical challenges, identifying areas of high risk to project management and other stakeholders.

This role could also develop into a technical lead position where you manage a development team, that will look to you for vision and technical guidance. You play a key role in the development of best practices in software design, implementation, and coding standards - advancing the current success.

YOU ARE

You hold previous experience from development in Java or Java EE, SQL and the requirement process, developed and tested software in accordance with design requirements. You have a bachelor/master’s degree in engineering, computer science (or equivalent experience) and you are fluent in English, spoken as well as written.

You like coaching technical teams, acting as their sounding board as well as challenging the status quo. You enjoy solving problems, preferably together with others. Since you interact with various stakeholders within and outside the organization, it is crucial that you have great communication skills.
