Software Engineer within AI to Scania

Arbetsbeskrivning

This is an opportunity to work with top-quality research and development of future cutting-edge autonomous driving concepts. We work with state-of-the-art technologies within machine learning and are now looking for a new colleague at Autonomous Transport Solutions (ATS) Research. Join us on this amazing journey!

Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. Software is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient software solutions that support current and future business requirements.

YOU WILL
We operate in agile teams that work in close cooperation with the VW group, leading technology partners, and academic institutions. Our culture is built based upon delivering added customer value through research and practical experiments that iteratively lead to concepts for industrialization. You will work in tight collaboration with all the agile teams within the ATS research section and across the Autonomous systems department, analyzing the different components of the ATS stack, ensuring that the technical performance aspects in the infrastructure environment are optimized.

Our multi-cultural teams’ success is based on the build-measure-learn practice, enabled by a flexible platform that allows us to test the latest autonomous driving concepts. You will research, design, implement, optimize and deploy deep learning models for autonomous driving. You will also work on the associated pre- and postprocessing code and related tools that enable the complete workflow from data collection, via model creation and training in the cloud to deployment in our vehicles.

Typical tasks are to:

- Enable our deployed AI based modules to be robust, modular and maintainable and our tools to evolve quickly with user needs.
- Deliver high-quality and reliable code for deep learning modules on autonomous driving trucks
- Build and maintain efficient pipelines and reliable benchmarks for improving deep learning model performance.
- Optimize training and deployment process for deep learning models.
- Collaborate with other engineers to conduct system integration and tests.

YOU ARE
We believe in being autonomous and value team-players and pragmatical individuals. We also appreciate individuals that are analytical, result-oriented, and face new challenges with a positive, can-do attitude. You are of course open and curious towards your team mates, and you enjoy supporting and contributing to the development with your technical expertise.

You should have experience developing product quality code in C++ and knowledge of machine learning and deep learning frameworks, e.g. TensorFlow and PyTorch. You also bring a strong interest in programming multi-threaded and multi-process distributed systems. Knowledge in neural network computation optimization, such as distributed training, network quantization, and CUDA acceleration is also needed. A Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is expected and extra meritorious is knowledge in deep learning topics including but not limited to image segmentation and object detection, but also experience with robotic systems and documented excellence in design of complex software systems.

WE OFFER
We offer an interesting and challenging job where there is plenty of scope for new ideas. Our corporate culture is characterized by openness, diversity and respect for the individual. Employees are our most important resource, so we invest in training our employees and giving them the opportunity to broaden their skills in order to be able to grow with us.
