You will be part of Marine and Ports in Västerås. ABB’s business for ports assists shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, quick and cost-efficient way. Ports is specialized in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes. We are the leading supplier of crane systems and are active worldwide. In the large terminal automation projects we deliver electric and automation systems for 50 to 100 cranes, to the major container ports in the world.
This role reports to Technology Manager. Your department is responsible for integration of your own developed software, for automated container cranes into our customers terminal operation systems.

Your responsibilities
You will be a member in the Technology management team.
Lead a department of 10-12 skilled SW engineers.
Your department develop and maintain SW products, develop logistics SW solutions in customer projects and have some 24/7 service support.
You have the direct responsibility to ensure R&D results, customer project deliverables and 24/7 support are in line with agreed expectations.
Ensure logistics SW products and solutions are developed, tested, maintained, planned and documented.
Keep developing the departments fantastic engineers in a direction that support ABB Ports long term strategy in your area.
Responsible for the technology roadmap for your department.
You lead the department to a structured development process, including but not limited to, requirements management, a secure software development lifecycle and a structured fault-finding process.
Your background
Experience from team lead or line manager role is valuable.
Experience in SW development within logistics area is valuable.
Proficiency in Java/C++/C# development is valuable.
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field together with a few years of experience as a Software Developer.
Since you will work in a global company, you need to master English in both speech and writing, Swedish language skills are meriting.
