What do we do?
We develop the control and diagnostic strategies for current and future propulsion systems for Volvo Group. The combustion system control group work in close cooperation with the combustion teams in Gothenburg to develop the complete combustion system solution.
We have many interesting challenges in front of us to develop advanced control strategies to drastically lower the emissions and fuel consumption from our engines. We work towards a future with fossil free transportation, including hydrogen combustion and biofuels.
Our SW functionality is developed in agile teams, most of the function development for Volvo Group´s heavy duty engines is done in Gothenburg, but we also cooperate closely with agile teams in France and Brazil.
We are responsible for the entire development chain from advance engineering, through product development into maintenance phase.
What will you do?
You will be the technical manager for a subset of our embedded software product. Securing feature and quality for future projects as well as for maintenance.
You are responsible for the software roadmap for your area – including both functional and non-functional requirements.
This means that you will be the main interface in the communication between stakeholders and the agile teams, to optimize the added value for the product. You will be balancing different requests and maintain the product backlog.

You have a strong business mind, great technical understanding and you are passionate about customer needs from a software development point of view.
You have a strong sense of ownership. You like to have and take responsibility. You have confidence in your abilities to influence our products and are good at communicate your knowledge and vision.
In addition to the above, aspects that are important merits to us are:
M.S in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar area
>5 years’ experience from embedded SW development
Experience from development of combustion engines
Experience of leading technical tasks, including setup of product strategy and roadmap
Experience in agile framework
Experience in configuration management and change management (e.g. JIRA, GIT)
Fluent English, written and spoken
