At Volvo Group Trucks Technology, we are currently looking for Function Developer to join the Electrical Propulsion Electrical System Control Team!
Volvo is again heavily investing in technology, especially in sustainable transportation for the future: Electromobility. We are now growing very rapidly in this area, why we need to strengthen our team with a software product owner.


Who are we?


We at Electromobility are taking the heritage of an excellent conventional truck and turn that into environmental friendly and sustainable top-notch electrical vehicle. The expectations are high, and therefore we need to get you on board and be able to collaborate efficiently with our highly experienced organization. What we can offer is a well working organization delivering trucks, busses. The area where this team is working is Electric Management System, which is not only the batteries, neither only the electrical motor nor the charging system but all these areas are combined into a system together with drivability and serviceability on the aftermarket. We are integrating the parts and make it a fully functional system.


Who are you?


We are looking for an engineer with some experience of electromobility software design and who are highly collaborative, with a strong drive to deliver what the customer needs with in the highest technical standards. You need to be able to understand embedded function development and the needs for an agile team. You also need to understand the customers’ needs when using the Volvo’s superior products in everyday life. The system is complex, and to utilize its strengths you need to understand our high-quality demands. You have experience from the automotive industry, system development, software development and have a great attitude, working cross functional and a willingness to learn and gradually take more responsibility.
You need to be able to grasp over a wide technical area where automotive, embedded systems, batteries, electric machines, charging system, testing, continues deployment are great assets. You have probably already some special knowledge in charging, electric propulsion or batteries.
Some of our developers spends time in vehicle with a computer attached, some spend most of the time in office, both is important and depending on the current needs.


What will you do?


In order to succeed in your new role we think you have:
MSc Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics or equivalent
Some years of experience from electromobility software development
Good communication skills
Experience in embedded software development, Target link, Simulink, C-code
Vehicle or automotive experience, possibly C or CE-driving license

Your key responsibilities will be:
Own definition and prioritization of the product backlog
Support the team in understanding the features defined in the backlog
Ensure high quality of deliverables through clear definition of acceptance criteria
Be part of the product owners’ team and secure alignment on the priorities/dependencies within the EPSM ART
Lead a highly skilled team which jointly works and secures deliverables and enablers
