What’s in it for you?
The department Exterior Systems has responsibilities to develop the exterior mechatronic systems of the vehicle, which involves development of customer functionality, system design, hardware design, software development and verification on all levels. The technical responsibility covers system solutions in various areas, among them exterior front lighting and rear lighting, wipers, washer, sensor cleaning and rear-view systems/mirrors.

Our current Signal Light teams consist of some 20 skilled engineers, engaged in development with technical responsibility within Exterior Lighting Functions, functional and system design, SW-development and verification.

What will you do?
In your role as Product Owner for the product area Signal Light, you are responsible to maximize value-added work by owning and deciding upon priorities in the Team Backlog from a business perspective to streamline execution, while maintaining technical integrity of the features/components for the team.

As the product owner, your main objective and responsibility is to define, own, prioritize, refine and approve our committed work. You participate in discussions with your stakeholders and coordinate tasks with other product owners. You will participate as a member of the extended product management team to review and contribute to the department vision and roadmap.
With a focus on our product area, you will make sure that our customers get the best possible system with regards to functionality and quality. We also expect you to be on top of technology evolution and provide new ideas to continuously improve our product and processes.

You and your skills
To fit this position, you are passionate about people and our products and have a human-centric approach when working with our products and services. You are structured and target-focused with a great ability to keep a holistic/strategic mindset rather than getting stuck in details. Further, you are a great communicator and networker, engaging people throughout the entire organization which makes it easy for you to collaborate with people from team to unit level. It comes naturally for you to build trust while always setting your team’s needs first without prestige. We also believe that your curiosity seeks you to learn new things and areas within the range of our future products and services.

We believe that you have a BSc or MSc Degree in a relevant area (Electronic engineering, SW Engineering) or equivalent expertise with 5+ years of experience working within a relevant area. Preferred if you have previous experience from a technical leadership role that you have worked with SW development and if you have experience from all phases of product from strategy and concept to industrialization and maintenance. You have knowledge of Volvo Cars Product Engineering Framework mainly in the function development domain. Your English is fluent, both written and spoken, and you have a proven ability to inspire, challenge and lead different teams.  Swedish driving license is required.
