At Sandvik Manufacturing Solutions (SMF) – a business area within Sandvik with around 1800 contributors – we’re accelerating the growth of our digital solutions. Right now, we’re looking for a Software Security Specialist to join our team and we want you onboard!
Your mission
In this position, you’re responsible for helping our teams design, implement and maintain secure software solutions. You’re a proponent for our security across SMF, and therefore you promote, change and integrate security threat and vulnerability management into all our products, applications, platforms and processes – spending time on awareness and way of working. With a lot of engineering teams working with different solutions across our organization, this role is broad. You work closely with the engineering teams to lead and help them succeed in their security and work closely to develop the security strategy for the entire SMF. Key is also to stay up-to-date with industry standards, security trends, and emerging threats.
Your responsibilities also include:
Providing security guidance and training to support our development teams, build a security champion community.
Developing and implementing secure coding practices, policies and standards across the software development lifecycle.
Facilitating code reviews and vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities together with development teams.
Identifying, developing and maintaining security testing tools and automation frameworks together with development teams.
Developing and maintaining threat models and risk assessments for software applications.
Participating in incident response and security incident investigations if needed.
Reporting to stakeholders and measuring key results.

You report to the Chief of Information Security Officer (CISO) of SMF. The location for this job is preferably Gasverket in Stockholm and we apply a hybrid work set-up where you can combine office work with work from home or any other location. Since we’re a global business, travel will be a natural part of the role, as well efficient digital collaboration across time zones.
Your character
We’re looking for someone with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security or another related field, combined with a few years of experience in software development with a focus on security. In addition to this, you need an understanding of secure coding and software development practices, as well as familiarity with OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies and other relevant frameworks. As you come into contact with technologies like Linux, MacOS, Windows, Github and Microsoft Azure, you need knowledge of these, as well as of web application architectures and industry-standard security tools. Experience with common techniques, such as REST, Java, Python, or C++ is also needed. We operate worldwide, which means you have excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing, and you’re comfortable presenting your work and teaching others.
